RULES OF TRANSACTION

We only accept payment in two currencies, $US (in cash only) and £UK. No other currencies are plausible although we do accept orders from any country. We believe that it shouldn't be a *priviledge* for an international ponyperson to buy ponies. It should be their right, as much as anybody else online to get the ponies they want to get. If sending money from abroad it is advised that you register it. If you decide not to then we cannot be held responsible if the payment goes missing. Although we are unable to accept $US in any form other than cash, we will accept an INTERNATIONAL CHEQUE IN POUNDS STERLING if you are unhappy about mailing cash. These however must be held eight to ten days in order to clear through the system. Money Orders, transfers and any other system of payment in any currency other than £Sterling is not possible due to outrageous bank fees. We are currently looking into the possibility of PAYPAL purchasing but as yet have made no move to sign up.

We are unable to refund money at this time. Please ASK for a specific description and/or scan if you are buying a reduced rate pony :). If after the transaction is over you feel you have a complaint, please carry out the following things:

Firstly: Contact hoofprints, and explain the problem courteously. Neither of us will answer emails that are abusive. If we feel there has been an error, then you will be compensated by a free pony of the value of the one you have a problem with. We are unable to refund money due to the difference in currency. Every hoofprints pony is scanned into the page and described in detail to prevent errors occuring, however, in the case of compensation:

The pony has a major flaw which was not mentioned on Hoofprints or shown in the scan on the page. We can make mistakes and with two of us working it can happen that one of us neglects to mention something to the other before shipping.

The wrong pony has been sent and it can be proven that an error has been made. In these circumstances we may ask you to return the incorrect item, at a shipping cost we will pay.

If a compensatory offer is made then it is made out of goodwill and not because we have to do so...please note that you may not DEMAND a pony as compensation. Hoofprints' page holds detailed scans of each pony and more scans can be done on request if the buyer has any doubts - THAT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER.

We are not responsible for any damage incurred during shipping of the item. If item does not arrive at destination swiftly (air mail:within a week to Europe, within ten days to the USA, within a fortnight to Singapore/Australia) then we will put a trace on the item at the post office. We will NOT register items unless specifically asked to do so - the buyer is responsible for paying the extra £3 charge to internationally register the delivery. However, we are only able to track the progress of a registered parcel until it leaves the United Kingdom. We have not yet had a Hoofprints pony go missing, though we have had delays.

On bulk buys discounts may be given on shipping or on the total cost of the ponies.

It's your decision whether an item is send air mail or surface mail. Air mail from the UK to the American East Coast is generally about 5 days, to the west coast it can be longer (Ten days at the outside). Surface mail takes a MINIMUM of four weeks to reach the USA, but on heavy items often saves money.

Hoofprints will not in any way or form sell an item to a customer with overall negative feedback on Ebay or any other page where feedback can be left. This includes bad traders lists. If we have had a bad experience with you in the past then we will be reluctant to repeat the experience. We are also unlikely to agree to a transaction with someone who requested a pony previously and then decided that they did not want the pony, yet did NOT bother to either inform Hoofprints or to reply to Hoofprints mail (see below). If a buyer changes their mind about a pony or there will be a significant delay in sending of payment, PLEASE CONTACT US STRAIGHT AWAY! We don't bite;)

Please do not order if you do not mean to pay - it wastes time and effort on our part, and is not very good manners. If we have not heard from you regarding your item after the month holding time, the pony will come off hold and be put back up for sale. In most cases you will not be notified prior to the re-listing of the item although you may receive an email asking if you are still intending to buy. Except in rare circumstances you will not be able to re-reserve the pony, and we reserve the right to refuse to deal with you in the future, if necessary.

Shipping costs $2 per pony out of the United Kingdom (the actual price of postage is generally around £1.40, which rounds up in $US to $2). That is for Air Mail Shipping. We do not charge a handling fee and we do not charge excess shipping costs...the buyer should pay for the pony and as little as possible for the postage of it. We also do not charge an extra commision fee for conversion of the $US to the £sterling. All conversion costs are included in the price of the pony as listed.
Within the UK postage is around £1 (first class) and £0.75 (second class) but it does vary and can be lower.

IMPORTANT

Now, we're a nice lot here at Hoofprints. We want satisfied pony friends and healthy collections. We do not, however, sell to customers who are unwilling to sell their items abroad unless there is a very good reason for this. This is not a negotiable point - we don't think it's fair for us to work out shipping prices for other countries and accept a foreign currency if you would not be willing to do the same thing. We are regular users of Ebay and we do firmly uphold this policy backed up by what we see online...and yes, we do keep a list.

We may ask for ebay references and/or emails of past traders who can provide you with a favourable reference. We of course are willing to provide you with a reference after the transaction is over, if you so wish:)
